Use cruise control, but not when you are going downhill. Use it on the highway only. When going downhill, you can decelerate, so that makes it easier to use the hypermiling technique. Drive at lower speeds. For example, if you drive at a speed of 70 miles per hour instead of 60 miles per hour, your gas fuel may cost you 17% more.

Use a lower grade of oil such as 5W-30. The higher grades are thicker and needs more energy to run your vehicle.
